Our local school district has 2 1/2 weeks off for Fall Break in October. Since Jackson didn't have preschool, we headed over to California to go to Disneyland and California Adventure!! We couldn't get enough of the cool 75 degree weather!! It was so refreshing.
Jackson is measuring up to exactly 40 inches and so a whole new world of rides opened up to him!! This was his first time on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Soarin' Over California. He loved them all!!
Of course, we each had our favorites that we got to ride endlessly!!

Just as we were packing up our car to drive to LA, Eric fell and sprained his ankle! He gave us the OK to go ahead; but by the next morning - our first day at Disneyland - it was black and blue and swollen 3 times its normal size! So, while Jackson and I jumped on Astro Orbitor for our first ride at the park, Eric drove himself to a local Pharmacy to buy crutches!! I still can't believe he limped around Disneyland for 3 days on crutches!! He is the ultimate guy!!
One huge bonus that came out of all this was that we didn't have to wait in any lines!! We were able to use the wheelchair accessible entrance and get right on all the rides!! It was fabulous, and came in very, very handy!!
As Eric hobbled onto Dumbo the Flying Elephant for the 3rd time, I saw a bunch of moms admiring him and raving about what a dedicated dad he was!! It was classic!!

My sister and brother-in-law, Tanya & Bryce, happened to be at Disneyland on one of the days we were there and we had so much fun running around with them! They rented out a beach house for Fall Break with their brother and sister-in-law, Blake & Michelle. We had a blast riding the rides with Bryce & Tanya and their 5 kids and Blake & Michelle and their 2 kids.

We got to take my adorable 2 year-old niece, Ashley, on her favorite ride, It's a Small World! She is so cute and hilarious!!
We had a thrilling time that passed way too quickly!! We were reminded once again that it is truly the happiest place on earth!! Jackson was devastated when we had to leave, and as we drove away he waved farewell and cried, "Good-bye Mickey's House!! I love you!!"

How fun! The kids occasionally check out blogs and I looked at some of the family ones today and saw yours. Sounds like a great time and hopefully Eric's ankle is better!
What a fantastic time! I'm jealous! I want to go again since I was pregnant last year when we went! Jackson's brave to go on all those rides! California Screamin is my favorite too! Eric is so great to hobble along the whole time! That was a great perk though not having to wait in lines!!!
Oh and Jackson looks so grown up in that last picture with his hands in his pockets!!
